Roe Worbes - Superintendent Of Altus Public Schools

Roe Worbes was named the Superintendent of Altus Public Schools in July of 2018. 

He grew up in the Altus area.  He graduated from Navajo High School before obtaining his Associate’s Degree from Western Oklahoma State College.  Roe furthered is education earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he later earned his Master’s Degree.  Mr. Worbes began his career in education at Mangum Junior High in 1990.  He taught science and coached three sports.  In 1992 he made the move to Altus Middle School, and has been serving in the Altus School District ever since.  Mr. Worbes began in leadership as the Altus Junior High Assistant Principal in 2001 and soon after became the AJH Principal in 2002.  In 2014 Mr. Worbes was named the Assistant Superintendent in Altus. 

Roe is married to Johna, a special education teacher at Altus Primary School.  They have three children, Shelby, Brekyn and Bates.  Roe is an active member of First Baptist Church Altus and Altus Rotary Club.  He also serves as an ex-offico member of the Altus Economic Development Committee and as an Honorary Commander to Altus Air Force Base.
