Dear Altus Public Schools families:
I want to ensure you have accurate information about a situation that occurred near our Intermediate and Early Childhood campuses this morning. All students and staff are safe.
The Altus Police Department notified Altus Public Schools that they were searching the neighborhood near our campuses. While this matter is not school-related, it does impact our school.
As always, the exterior doors to both schools were secured and remain locked. Students continued normally with their day inside; however, no outside activities, such as recess, were occurring during the time of the search.
At 8:18 a.m., Altus Public Schools was given an all clear from the Altus Police Department.
Safety is our greatest priority. We are thankful for our continued partnership with the Altus Police Department.
