In accordance with the Oklahoma State Department of Education Special Education Policies and Procedures, Altus Public Schools is providing former students who received special education services the opportunity to obtain copies of their special education records prior to their scheduled destruction.

Former students who graduated, exited, or aged out of special education services during or before the 2018–2019 school year may request and retrieve their records. These records may be beneficial for future educational, vocational, employment, or personal purposes.

Eligible records must be requested and picked up between July 31, 2026, and August 31, 2026. Records not claimed by August 31, 2026, will be permanently destroyed in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

A valid photo identification is required when picking up records. Records may only be released to the former student or the student's legal guardian.
