Dear Altus Public Schools families:
I want to ensure you have accurate information about a situation that occurred near our Junior High and Primary School campuses this morning. All students and staff are safe.
The Altus Police Department notified Altus Public Schools that they were working near our campuses this morning. While this matter is not school-related, it does impact our school.
As always, the exterior doors to both schools were secured and remain locked. Students continued normally with their day inside; however, no outside activities, such as recess, were occurring during the time of the search.
At 9:40 a.m., Altus Public Schools was given an all clear from the Altus Police Department.
Safety is our greatest priority. We are thankful for our continued partnership with the Altus Police Department.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office. We appreciate your support of Altus Public Schools.
Respectfully,
Roe Worbes
Superintendent of Altus Public Schools
