Dear Altus Public Schools parents and staff:

This morning, one of our district route buses was side-swiped by a car while stopped at the stop sign at Ridgecrest and Park Lane. Thankfully, no one was injured.
There is nothing more important to Altus Public Schools than the safety of our students and staff members. We want to thank the emergency responders who urgently assisted following the accident. We are also proud of our students who demonstrated patience, cooperation, and understanding during today’s event.

Hunters Against Hunger was a success! Altus Schools was excited to be a community partner for the transport of 490 lbs of ground venison to 4 local food distribution sites that support our community families in need. Our Altus partners and food distribution points included the SOCAG, Tamarack Church of Christ, Operation Care and The Salvation Army.

* Special thanks to our amazing partners that made it happen, i.e. local/regional deer hunters (donated meat) and Route 66 Meat Processor staff, in Sayre, OK.

We are BLESSED to have our partners reach deep into the community to meet the existing food insecurity needs.

Mrs. Raab's 4th-grade class at Rivers Elementary was recently named Devon Thunder Explorers for their " Mighty Muscles" lesson. The students received branded sunglasses and certificates from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Mrs. Raab received $500 to spend on her classroom/students!
