Today we wanted to take a moment to spotlight one of the programs available here at Rivers Elementary. We take great pride in working with our Military Connected Children and looking for ways we can help them adjust. Our Navigators (student leaders) are using a program this year to help fellow classmates/students overcome different obstacles. Pictured below is one of the kits they give out to students during the year. This one is a kit for dealing with a deployment of a parent/caregiver. Our Navigators give out the kits and they have a lunch and activity once a month until the family member returns. We also offer a Welcome, See you Later, Reunification, Loss ( pets, friend, family), or Divorce Kits. Please note: The Divorce Kits are only requested from our counselor not our Navigators. These kits have items geared toward helping a student in need. If you have a student who could benefit from on of our kits or a conversation with one of our Navigators please reachout to us. We would love to help.
