Altus Public Schools - Building Bulldogs

Altus Public Schools, a 5A district in Southwest Oklahoma with highly competitive coaching compensation, is seeking a high school head football coach for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be ALL IN on leading the Bulldog Football program for grades 7 through 12, with a clear and detailed plan that emphasizes academic success, strong fundamentals, and the development of student-athletes with character and leadership.

Bulldogs, Late this afternoon a cut was made in the gas line at the construction site of the new elementary school on Altus Air Force Base. The gas line cannot be repaired before the start of school tomorrow, Wednesday, January 7. For the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff, Rivers Elementary will be closed on Wednesday, January 7. All other Altus Public Schools sites will be open and on a normal schedule. Dear Altus Public Schools parents and staff:

This morning, one of our district route buses was side-swiped by a car while stopped at the stop sign at Ridgecrest and Park Lane. Thankfully, no one was injured.
There is nothing more important to Altus Public Schools than the safety of our students and staff members. We want to thank the emergency responders who urgently assisted following the accident. We are also proud of our students who demonstrated patience, cooperation, and understanding during today’s event.
